Our Respect
Acknowledgement of Country
We work on lands that have been cared for, and lived on, for tens of thousands of years.
Crescent Care Foundation acknowledges the Darug and Dharawal peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands across South-West Sydney where we live and work. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are part of our community today.
Sovereignty over these lands was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. We carry that truth into our work, and we say it plainly because it matters.
Acknowledging Country is more than words at the start of a meeting. For us it is a commitment to listen, to learn, and to make sure First Nations people who come to Crescent Care feel seen, safe and respected. Culturally safe support means honouring culture, kinship and community, for everyone we walk alongside.
We are grateful to share this place, and we are committed to playing our part in a more inclusive and respectful community across Western Sydney.
A note on this page
If you are a First Nations community member or Elder and would like to share feedback on how we acknowledge Country, or on our work more broadly, we would genuinely welcome the conversation. You can reach our team any time through our contact page.
